When you say best reggae singers, I'd want to think the best vocalists or the best voices in reggae more than anything esle, period! In that case, we have to include superb voices like those of Lacksley Castell, Hugh Mundell, Barrington Levy, Ini Kamoze, Junior Reid, Johnny Osbourne, Jimmy Cliff, Johnny Clarke, Yabby You, John Holt, Jacob Miller, etc.

My list is all male, but there are tons of women too, and a boat load of others who just have an undeniable vocal presence that gets your attention! Hugh and Lacksley have to be near the top of any list, period! They're barely known because we lost them early, but I beg any of you to take a listen, you will agree! Besides, Hugh Mundell has to be the greatest reggae singer that most people never heard of, RIP "blessed youth!" You're not truly gone, your music lives on!
